Working with Marmalade Ski School, our Alpine partner in Les Trois Vallees, this coaching intensive week designed for skiers who are interested in tackling more of the mountain including steeper terrain, chopped up snow, bumps, and if we get fresh snow, some powder skiing! You may have tried skiing off the sides of pistes but struggled and are keen to gain confidence in tougher conditions.

We will be honing your all round skills with drills and exercises on piste but will be sampling different terrain and getting lots of mileage in variable snow conditions. Should the conditions allow our end of week goal will be to ski a tough black, a couloir, or possibly, an un-pisted itinerary run. No need for fat skis or avalanche equipment, normal all mountain skis will be fine.

This holiday is suitable for confident level 7 and higher skiers who would consider themselves off-piste Aspirers willing to venture off piste on easy slopes (green-easy blue). Limited off piste experience, from none to a few days with a desire to improve while skiing tougher conditions such as icy slopes, steeps, bumps and chopped up snow. Relatively fit with the attitude and aptitude to progress.

Working with Marmalade Ski School, our Alpine partner in Les Trois Vallees, this week is perfect for skiers who are happy skiing easy gradient off piste terrain, variable snow conditions, icy slopes and easy bumps but are looking to gain mileage and the confidence to get further from the pistes and enjoy the powder. If you have wider off piste focused or touring skis please bring them along. Backpacks with avalanche rescue equipment will be required every day. If you have your own equipment please bring it along, if not we will issue you with a backpack, shovel, probe and transceiver. Conditions allowing we will be maximising your time off piste with an end of week goal to ski a lift served backcountry route outside the resort boundary.

Should weather conditions not allow for off piste skiing we will do technical skills development that will help improve your off-piste skiing. The course includes training on how to use avalanche rescue equipment and discussions on avalanche safety during coffee breaks. When out in the mountains we will point out avalanche prone areas and give you some knowledge and understanding on how to read snow pack conditions to give you some knowledge of mountain craft.

This holiday is suitable for level 8 and higher skiers with at least a off piste experience who consider themselves off-piste Improvers or off-piste Developers with at least a weeks experience skiing moderate off-piste slopes (blue - red) confidently and comfortably. Able to link multiple turns in light, above boot height, powder snow on a uniform base. May struggle to link turns in poor lighting or variable snow conditions. Able to manage easy untracked terrain and chalky snow without obstacles. Has the fitness to ski off piste for a few hours and can get up unassisted after a fall in deep snow.
