3,2,1 - 3 Valleys, 2 Peaks, 1 night in a Mountain Refuge : Meribel & Les Trois Vallees
21-28 Mar 2020 (Sat-Sat) £1,595
This course will be run by Marmalade Ski School, our Alpine partner in Les Trois Vallees. They will take advantage of their local knowledge to explore the Three Valleys and take you on some classic ski touring routes. Check out SkiMarmalades blog for more information.

Looking for the best snow and runs in each of the Three Valleys we will be ski touring most days and attempt some classic summits that will take 2-3 hours of skinning to reach. To cap off the week we will arrange for an overnight stay in a mountain refuge after skinning up. 5 full days of coaching with a flexible day off so we have the adjust for adverse weather or tired legs.

This holiday is suitable for level 9 and higher skiers who would rate themselves as off-piste explorers. For the adventurous skier, not for the feint hearted! Please contact us with any questions.

If you have touring skis and boots great, if not we can arrange for hire at a local shop. Backpacks with avalanche rescue equipment will be required every day. If you have your own please bring it along, if not we will issue you with all the relevant equipment (backpack, shovel, probe and transceiver).

A basic understanding of snow stability, mountain craft, search & rescue techniques and the fundamentals of how to ski safely in mountain terrain. Will probably have some experience of touring. Flat light may not pose too much of a problem for this skier. Has the fitness to ski off piste all day, would be happy to skin uphill for a few hours on terrain that would require kick turns and is able get up unassisted after a fall in deep snow on steep terrain.

We will seek out classic day tours around the Three Valleys and on one day skin to a mountain refuge and overnight there.

This holiday will is be organised by Derek Chandler from our Alpine partner ski school Marmalade. Derek is the founder of Marmalade and has over 20 seasons of skiing in Les Trois Vallees and knows the area extremely well.

Video review will be minimal as we will be focussing on getting mileage in but we will endeavour to obtain some footage and photographs of you skiing over the course of the week for your scrapbook.
