Ski Area
This is a big ski area comprising 150km of pistes served by nearly 60 ski lifts. It covers four main ski resorts: Folgarida, Madonna di Campiglio, Pinzolo and Marilleva, all of which are seamlessly linked together. Like all large ski areas you'll be able to ski in a different area each day. It offers excellent terrain for ski coaching with a range of long moderately steep pistes, many through the trees, which are perfect for technical development, and steeper terrain to test your newfound skills.

Many of the slopes of Madonna di Campiglio generally point down towards the town (you can imagine it as a large bowl with the town in the centre) although, of course you don't have to go back down as there are many runs heading off in all directions. The lower section of the northern slopes (towards Folgarida) tend to be slightly steeper with the more gentle pitches to found higher up - there are 2 cable cars that will take you all the way to the top, from where you can decide where to go. The southern slopes of MdC are mostly much longer and less steep. If you prefer wide open blue runs then you should take the cable car up to Groste where you can spend the whole day exploring the area above the forest as there are high speed chairs that will take you back up to the top.

The coaching will be technically focused and comprised of four all day and one half day session with a day off. We will be working on developing your piste performance by effectively carving the skis. Coaching groups will be aligned broadly by skier ability level as well as by the type of technical issues that may that you need to work on.

This holiday is suitable for level 7 and higher skiers with focussed coaching designed for skiers looking to refine their skills base and raise their skiing performance with extensive use of challenging drills with plenty of mileage to help consolidate the days learning.

Group size will be no more than eight per coach. We will do lots of video feedback, with analysis and review sessions held in your hotel in the evenings or on the hill in a convenient bar or restaurant.
Our base for this holiday is the Hotel Gran Baita

You will be delighted with this typical "Dolomiti" family run hotel. The owners pride themselves on pampering their guests with a real home-from-home atmosphere. As you can see from the photographs, the Gran Baita has preserved many of the original features that has given this fine hotel such a high return rate from past clients. All the rooms are furnished to a high standard and are en-suite with TV, direct dial phone and wifi.

The upper floors are reached by the lift from side of the reception area. The welcoming bar and large "snug" (lounge) is open till late as are the billiard room and games room.

The hotel runs a shuttle bus service to and from the main Folgarida lift complex each day. Depending on conditions and the group you are in we may start and finish our skiing in Madonna di Campiglio to take best advantage of the terrain on offer. An inter resort coach will take us there on those days at a very modest daily fee of around 1 Euro per journey, or you can just ski back at the end of the day.
